I: Thời gian
Thời gian dành cho phần thi Reading là 60 phút, bao gồm đọc, trả lời và chuyển câu trả lời sang phiếu. Khác với phần thi Listening có thời gian để chuyển câu trả lời sang phiếu trả lời, 60 phút là thời gian dành cho làm bài và chuyển câu trả lời sang phiếu cho Reading.
II: Dạng câu hỏi/ Nhiệm vụ bài thi
– Phần thi Reading gồm 4 bài đọc, tương ứng với 40 câu hỏi đã lựa chọn.
– Độ khó của văn bản tương đương với bậc 3-5, dao động từ 1900 đến 2500 từ.
– Chủ đề của bài đọc rất rộng, có thể là vấn đề xã hội nóng hổi, hay liên quan đến công nghệ, môi trường hay khoa học,…
– Mục đích:
Phần thi reading kiểm tra các tiểu kĩ năng đọc hiểu khác nhau, có độ khó từ bậc 3 đến bậc 5. Các tiểu kĩ năng gồm: đọc hiểu thông tin chi tiết, đọc hiểu ý chính, đọc hiểu ý kiến, thái độ tác giả, suy ra từ thông tin trong bài và đoán nghĩa của từ trong văn cảnh.
Các dạng câu hỏi của Vstep cũng tương ứng với các tiểu kĩ năng này.
